EDNAVIGATOR wEB & MOBILE APP DASHBOARD
EdNavigator pairs personal education advisors, or Navigators, with hard-working busy families. Working with a UX researcher, I was tasked to design a dashboard, for the existing app, that would allow Navigators to gain clearer insight into which families and students need the most attention. We also needed to allow Navigators and families to create and access Health Score Reports.
Our first task was to determine what to house on the Dashboard for both the mobile and web applications. Through user interviews and a prioritization workshop, we found the focus needed to be on finding students in the app and taking an action, even on the go.
Brand new features were created like new family registrant alerts, a notifications panel, readily available to-dos and unread messages, a breakdown of student progress, family engagement monitoring and an enhanced directory showing both family and student views for quick access.
Another opportunity we identified with our target audience was in the creation of Health Score Reports. Before, Navigators were keeping track of their student’s progress in complicated Excel workbooks. We simplified and housed this process in the app to give Navigators one place to generate health score reports and goals for their students. Furthermore, in order to allow families to have an active part in their student’s education journey, all health score reports and goals can also be translated to Spanish or French in the app with new ESL tags and alerts for the navigators.
